Alternate LinkedIn Assignment

Hi all,

I trust you have all been taking advantage of the lovely weather we've been having - I know I have! But just in case you thought I'd forgotten, here is the assignment for those who expressed an interest in an alternative to building a LinkedIn profile.

Consider my recent lecture about copyright. I know many of you found the information thought provoking, and it brought up some questions regarding your own work. I would like you to put your thoughts into words, here in this blog. The questions I'd like you to answer are: How do you think copyright could affect your work? How will you take steps to avoid copyright infringement - and how will you prevent others from infringing on your rights? Use your notes, and the links on the sidebar, particularly the Craft and Copyright link.

Type your thoughts in the comment box below, and I will publish them as I receive them. This assignment is due on 28th of April, along with the rest of your submission (see brief). Any questions, please also use the comment box below. I will not publish questions.

Enjoy the rest of your break!

  1. How do I think copyright could affect my work?
People could adapt my work to suit them, I also would lose out financially.

How will i prevent others infringing on my rights?
I would register all my designs, save all documents and files for evidence

How would I take steps to avoid copyright infringement?
I would put my work behind technical barriers, use a copyright notice.
    post a copy to myself.

  2. I am not overly worried about people looking at my work on line or even using it once i'm credited and they are not passing it off as their own. i don't really like using others work in my own but i do take inspiration from techniques but am careful to use it in a different way so not to infringe on others rights. it can be a gray aria with intellectual property so that is about knowing who to trust with shearing info with. i have an issue with my imagery being used in collage but law dos not agree with me so watermarking all online images is the biggest protector of my work, i would give prominent to people if asked. thankfully the law is working in favor of the artist with direct copies and passing other peoples work as there own.
