Mock Interviews

Hi all,

We will begin our mock interviews on Monday, 20th February (the Monday we return from mid term break). The interviews are designed to help you prepare and get organized for the real thing. Please bring with you to interview: your portfolio with finished work, work in progress, sketchbooks, samples, a CD with 20-30 images, and your CV.  If you have a copy of a letter of reference, bring that as well. If you missed the last class, be sure to watch the video clips I added to the Links sidebar. See post from 6th of Feb.  Our goal is to strengthen your presentation so you will make a strong impact in future interviews. Don't worry if you feel a bit rough around the edges now - we are in the process of working out the 'bugs'. Each student will be allocated 30 minutes. Message me if you have any conflict with your appointment, and we will make alternate arrangements. Students only need attend the time of their interview - use the rest of your time to work constructively. Class will continue as normal from Monday, 12 March.

All students need to submit the answers to their 25 interview questions on Monday, 20th Feb. I'll pop in at the end of your class with Mags to collect them.

Interviews

Hi all,

After discussing your schedule for the remainder of the term with Orla, we have decided to bring forward the dates for the interviews. They will begin on the Monday we return from mid term, and I would like to ask if there are any of you who would like to volunteer for that day. Those with early interviews, and those that are ready would benefit most from this schedule change. Please spread the word and contact me via the comments box below if you would like to be included in the first round, otherwise I will post the schedule on Monday.

Portfolio Preparation

Hi all,

This term seems to be absolutely flying, so make sure you keep on top of your work!

In case you missed it, last week I handed out the brief for this term, along with 'Interview Questions' you will be answering. If you didn't get the handouts, make sure you have them by tomorrow. There are 32 questions, of which you will answer 25 of your choice. Your answers should be typed and are due the week we return from mid term break. If you haven't submitted your CV or Artist Statement, please hand them in with your interview answers.
